Well we thought it was a good idea but once we got into Massachusetts the 91 got very busy and opene to three lanes each side and 5 lanes when near/in the cities. Of course there are exit and entry ramps on both sides and cars crossing lanes to get to their exits. Such fun! We held in through Sprinfield, Mass. and Hartford, Connecticut but bailed out when we reached a rest stop and Information Centre in Wallingford. Very nice spot.
We were told the 95 would be as busy if not worse so we opted for another route. A look at the map found Route 1 along the coast right up and into Maine. Looked good so we moved to it. It is the scenic route, slow and winding, and more our speed.
Lots of villages along the way. We tried to stay at a state park but they wouldn't allow dogs so we stopped at the Day's Inn in Old Saybrook, Conn for the night. There aren't any private campgrounds in this part of the state. We didn't get any pictures today but I do have my own bed.
