Got up early and packed up so we could be at the Toyota's dealer for 8:00 am. They had the car done in no time and we headed out on Route 2 again by 9:00 am. When we reached the Chippewa National Forest the terrain changed to woods from prairie farm land. Also, the split highway was reduced to two lanes and the speed limit went down to 60 mi/hr. Of Course, we are the only ones driving at this speed. And, we are getting hills again.
We drove into Wisconsin in the late morning. Since this route is only about 100 miles across the state we drove right through. We did stop at Ashland right on Lake Superior and I got a paw wet.
We drove into Michigan by mid afternoon but stopped at Ironwood at Davy's Motel. The lady at the Information Centre said the next bigger community is another 145 miles away and there wouldn't be many places to stop in between. We didn't want another late night.
We only have one bed so I guess I'll have to share.
