This day started out cloudy but as we moved west it cleared. We took the Klondike Highway today, heading for Dawson City. The drive was on a somewhat narrow road with lots of curves. Trees surrounded us but a few times we got to see mountains. We ran into construction where the road was mostly gravel. Our car is now a slimy green! The gravel is mostly grey but on cars it looks a bit green.
We arrived in Dawson City at about 4:00 pm - a long day, but the long stretches of gravel and the curvy road meant slow going. We are at the Bonanza Gold Motel and RV Park. Oh, yes forgot to mention the one we saw the other day. A transport truck had a small SUV on the back (sitting at about 30%) of the truck and was hauling the longest trailor we've seen yet. What a load to haul!
WE went downtown after supper. The city has the look of the old days as you can tell. She had supper, then we went for a short walk and then back to the motel as we are tired. Goodnight.
